We won, I lost...

It’s been more than a month since I last blabbered on my blog and amazing things have happened since I last posted. Like India won the World Cup: the first time in my lifetime! And probably I became the first Indian who refused a free ticket to watch it live at the Wankhede Stadium, not once, but thrice! Call me stupid, but yeah, I had my reasons…and no, insanity wasn’t one of them, or was it?

But, I did have an awesome time watching the match at a bar: the usual friends/alcohol/scream/hug routine, though looking back I don’t see how India winning the World Cup changed our lives, but yeah, for that weekend it really did. I found myself smiling for no reason or being illogically happy or calling people up, like I was in love. Every time I thought about the procession on Carter Road at 3 a.m., I knew this was one of the rarest of sights. The next time this happens again, I may be an old old lady, who would fondly bore her grandchildren with details of how Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni made it happen. The grandchildren, of course, will have no idea who these guys are…

Anyway, three weeks have passed since then, and thankfully we have moved on with our lives. Of course there is IPL, but by God’s grace it doesn’t give me orgasms. Not only that, I am actually sick of cricket and exploring new interests, like Formula One and cooking. The formal is quite interesting, the latter isn’t. As for work, the good thing about it is it keeps me busy 12 hours a day and it allows me to go for expensive vacations. Yes people, come June, I am off to tour Turkey and Greece: the oh-so romantic, rich with history cities of Athens and Istanbul await me.

As for writing, well, let’s just say, this blog is dying a slow death…
